More than a century ago, a man by the name of Max Grabowsky started the Rapid Motor Vehicle Company. After developing some of the first trucks ever created, General Motors, an emerging company in the automobile industry, acquired Rapid Motor in 1909. Together, the two formed General Motors Truck Company.
