Greenback smoking tobacco, as smooth as frog’s hair. This image is from an original 1890’s watercolor painting, no doubt intended to become a sign for Marburg Brothers Tobacco. The painting had a trimmed chromo heliograph label from a tobacco pouch glued onto the painted image. Most likely painted by an artist at A. Hoen & Co. in Maryland who did Greenbacks chromo-lithographic work. Fabulous fantasy toadstool barbershop with the frogs giving a shave & a haircut. Everyone luvs a smooth frog! Metal sign adds some humor to your collection. This Vintage Metal Sign is hand made in the USA using heavy gauge American steel.
