Breathtaking and captivating, this dynamic piece featuring two of Dodge and Plymouth’s most sought after cars, along with a glimpse of their race car heritage.
'When I decided to create a painting featuring the Challenger and Cuda, I knew they could not be standing still. I wanted to capture the thrill of competition between the street versions of the famous race cars, while paying tribute to their true origins. What a rush it would have been to, not only be behind the wheel of one of these powerful cars, but have a chance to race another like minded driver.' artist Michael Irvine
In this striking watercolor painting, Michael puts you right in the middle of the action as these two drivers experience the thrill of the race, going head-to-head on an open stretch of road. You can almost feel and hear their powerful engines as the 1970 Challenger T/A and AAR Cuda tear up the asphalt, their Trans Am racing heritage (Sam Posey's #77 and Dan Gurney's #48 cars) reflected in the wet pavement. Because of SCCA rules, it was possible for anyone to buy a high performance 'race car' of their own, making 1970 a tremendous year to buy and drive a brand new Dodge or Plymouth muscle car!
