Willys was a brand name used by Willys-Overland Motors, an American automobile company best known for its design and production of military Jeeps and civilian versions during the 20th century. In 1953 Kaiser Motors purchased Willys-Overland and changed the name to Willy’s Motor Company. As production facilities expanded, sales of Willys and Kaiser models continued to slowly decline, foretelling the disappearance of the Willy’s name in 1963, when the company became known as the Kaiser Jeep Corporation.
