Description
From the Barber Shop and Shoe Shine Memories licensed collection, this Banjo Shoeshine Plasma measures 12 inches by 18 inches and weighs in at 2 lb(s). The streets of London had some curious sites. This image just goes to show that the Boot Black Brigades, noted by their red jackets & hats were always working hard for their monies. But In reality, it was a very satirical image derived from a Bartlett Campbell play called The White Slave. The original image was an 1882 stereo view photo showing a similar flamboyant man without the banjo. This illustration is from a popular French magazine called L’illustraton. Great looking colorful metal sign too! This Plasma is hand made in the USA using heavy gauge American steel.
