In 1948, the new roundel logo, with each half formed by reversing oil droplets, with letters B and A in place was introduced. In 1967, BA changed the colors of the roundel from green/red to blue/orange. The reasoning behind this was two-fold; to ease the Canadian public into Gulf color combination without the abrupt takeover appearance of going directly to the Gulf symbol.
